Rajasthan brings together palace cities, desert landscapes, historic forts, colourful bazaars and distinctive regional cuisine. A first journey often links Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Jaisalmer, while longer itineraries can add Pushkar, Bikaner, Ranthambore or quieter heritage towns. How to reach
Rajasthan is well connected by air, rail and road. Jaipur is a major gateway, while Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer also have useful air and rail access depending on the itinerary.
Travel tips
Build the route geographically to avoid unnecessary backtracking. Forts and old-city walks can involve stairs and uneven surfaces, so pace the itinerary to the traveller profile.
