Best time to visit
March to May and October to December are broadly popular for pleasant sightseeing and clearer mountain conditions. High-altitude routes are weather- and permit-dependent throughout the year.
How to reach
Travellers commonly arrive via Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station and continue by road to Gangtok. Pakyong Airport has limited connectivity and should be checked for current schedules.
Travel tips
Some high-altitude areas require permits and may close at short notice due to weather or security conditions. Keep route flexibility in the itinerary.
